Privacy Policy.

Last updated 22 June 2026

This policy explains what personal information Sewn Up collects when you use sewnup.co.uk or get in touch with us, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We keep it short and plain, because that’s how we’d want it explained to us.

We only collect what we genuinely need, we don’t sell your information to anyone, and we’re happy to answer any questions you have.

Who we are.

Sewn Up provides training for retail buying, merchandising and product teams. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Sewn Up is the “data controller” for the information described here — which simply means we’re the ones responsible for looking after it.

You can reach us any time at hello@sewnup.uk.

The information we collect.

When you contact us

If you fill in our contact form or email us, we collect the details you choose to give us — typically your name, email address, company name and whatever you write in your message. We use these to reply to you and to talk about how we might work together.

When you browse the site

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymised information about how people use the site — such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrived, and roughly which part of the world they’re in. If you decline, none of this is collected. You can read the full detail in our Cookie Policy.

How we use it, and why we’re allowed to.

Under UK data protection law we need a lawful reason to use your information. Here’s how that works for us:

  • To respond to your enquiry and discuss working together. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and taking steps towards a possible agreement at your request.
  • To understand and improve the website. Our lawful basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner — and you can withdraw it at any time.
  • To keep proper records and meet our legal obligations. Where we need to, our lawful basis is compliance with the law.

Who we share it with.

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do rely on a few trusted service providers to run our business — for example our email and website hosting providers, and Google for analytics. These providers only handle your information on our instructions.

Some of these providers (such as Google) may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on safeguards approved under UK data protection law to keep your information protected.

How long we keep it.

We keep enquiry messages and correspondence for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any working relationship that follows, and then for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. After that we delete them. Analytics information is kept by Google for a limited period in line with our settings.

Your rights.

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to:

  • show you a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • correct anything that’s wrong or out of date;
  • delete your information, where there’s no good reason for us to keep it;
  • stop or limit how we use it; and
  • withdraw any consent you’ve given (such as for analytics).

To do any of these, just email hello@sewnup.uk and we’ll sort it out. There’s normally no charge.

If you’re ever unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first, though.

Cookies.

For everything about the cookies this site uses and how to control them, see our Cookie Policy.

Changes to this policy.

If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top.

Questions.

If anything here isn’t clear, email us at hello@sewnup.uk and we’ll happily explain.
